Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory therapy as prescribed by a Physician, preparing and operating respiratory care equipment, and ensuring accurate and complete Physician prescriptions.

• Provides respiratory therapy as prescribed by a Physician, including administering oxygen concentrations, aerosol medication devices, and mechanical ventilators.
• Ensures accurate and complete Physician prescriptions, comparing prescription requests with medical record order forms and clarifying any discrepancies with the Physician.
• Provides patient education on respiratory therapy, including vital capacity, inspiratory force, and peak flow measurements.
• Maintains mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment, testing for functioning and troubleshooting minor repairs and calibrations.
• Documents all activities and patient outcomes/responses per policy and procedure.

• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State, and Current Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Certification in New York State required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
• BLS & ACLS Required.
