Furnace Operator

The Heat Treating Furnace Operator is a critical member of the MNP team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the heat treat furnace. This key role requires a high degree of technical expertise and attention to detail, as the operator must maintain precise control over the furnace's temperature and instruments to achieve the desired steel stabilization.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Furnace Controls: Ensure that the furnace's temperature and instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly to meet the specified requirements of the process.
- Inspect Parts: Conduct thorough inspections of parts before and after the heat-treating operation to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity.
- Record and Document: Accurately read and record computer controls, such as the carbon controller, to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained. Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed.
- Participate in 5S Housekeeping: Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles and protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of heat treating processes and furnace operation.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and precision in maintaining furnace controls and inspecting parts.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with team members and management to ensure seamless operation and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Problem-Solving: Possess strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to furnace operation and part inspection.
- Previous Heat Treating Experience: Possess prior experience in heat treating or a related field.
- Self-Motivation: Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic Computer Skills: Possess basic computer skills and ability to read and record data accurately.
