The Credit Operations Specialist is essential at INSBANK, responsible for overseeing and managing the critical functions that uphold the integrity and efficiency of our credit operations. This role is vital in ensuring that our credit procedures not only comply with but also surpass industry benchmarks, thereby supporting the organization's broader mission and contributing to its sustained success.
Job Description:
Responsible for the prompt collection and assessment of financial documents, coordinating loan committee functions, assisting in audits, enhancing credit procedures, and engaging in special initiatives. Collaborate with various teams to maintain digital credit records, standardize workflows, and ensure data availability, significantly enhancing the efficiency and integrity of credit operations. Foster partnerships with other departments to achieve shared objectives and coordinate on common priorities. Provide strategic insights for credit quality and may represent the department when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Monitoring:
- Work closely with Commercial Loan Coordinators, Relationship Managers, and Portfolio Managers to ensure timely collection of all necessary financial documents.
- Evaluate financial documentation to ensure compliance with the requirements specified in the respective tickler requests.
- Ensure that financial documentation ticklers are established according to the stipulations outlined in the respective loan agreements.
- Maintain digital credit records in the nCino platform with consistent naming conventions for easy access by other Loan Team members.
Loan Committee Administration:
- Collaborate with Loan Teams to organize the Loan Committee agenda.
- Gather and distribute credit packages to Loan Committee members and other stakeholders via electronic communication.
- Document minutes of Loan Committee meetings and ensure proper approval is recorded within the nCino platform.
Audit Coordination:
- Assist in managing FHLB borrowing base collateral, including reporting and gathering documentation as part of the regular audit schedule.
- Support the Chief Credit Officer and Credit Officer as needed to collect documentation during Third-Party Loan Reviews, Safety & Soundness Examinations, and any other audits that may occur.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Assist the Credit Team in developing standardized processes and procedures for recurring tasks to ensure consistency across the department.
- Identify key processes that can be automated using existing technology and collaborate as needed for implementation.
- Ensure that credit processes align with evolving loan policies.
- Utilize reporting systems to guarantee that credit-related data is accessible efficiently.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist Loan Teams with construction draw requests.
- Coordinate with Loan Teams and Loan Administration to review Borrowing Base Certificates and ensure accurate tracking of BBC ticklers.
- Collaborate with the Credit Officer and/or Credit Analysis Administrator on projects requiring research and data analysis.
Other Key Job Functions:
- Communicate effectively with Senior Management, Auditors, Vendors, and other bank personnel.
- Adhere to all bank and department personnel policies and procedures.
- Perform other reasonably related job responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Preferred comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending practices, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong spelling and grammar proficiency.
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong work ethic.
Focus on timely follow-up.
Regular reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
