Role Responsibilities:

Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm / PRN

Under the guidance of the Chief Radiation Therapist, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for executing treatment and simulation protocols as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. Key duties include:

  • Administering radiation treatment and simulation procedures in alignment with the Radiation Oncologist's directives and departmental protocols.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of simulation setups and procedural details.
  • Preparing and/or administering IV and oral contrast as required.
  • Conducting Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) for pregnancy and preparing for IV contrast administration.
  • Setting up the treatment area and equipment according to the prescribed plan, including the placement of immobilization devices and verification of treatment parameters.
  • Communicating the procedure details to patients, addressing their questions, and providing reassurance before and after the treatment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a certificate or degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program, with registration or eligibility for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); less than 3 years of experience as a radiation therapist. If registry eligible, passing the registry exam within 6 months of employment is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is mandatory.
