Role Description:

3:30 PM - 12:00 AM / Full Time / 40 Hours

Under the guidance of the Chief Radiation Therapist, the Proton Radiation Therapist is responsible for executing treatment and simulation protocols as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves performing radiation treatment and simulation tasks in alignment with the Radiation Oncologist's directives and departmental standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating activities within the assigned treatment unit, including appointment scheduling and emergency procedures.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for specialized procedures and troubleshooting complex setups.
  • Monitoring treatment schedules to ensure proper alignment of appointment durations.
  • Supporting departmental policies and quality improvement initiatives, as well as implementing new processes and workflows.
  • Collaborating with the Chief and Lead to manage transfers between treatment machines during operational disruptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a radiation therapist.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per the American Heart Association.
