Job Summary:

Ryder System is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostic repairs.
  • Inspect and test vehicles to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work performed.
  • Coordinate work schedule with customers and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Perform work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e. safety, DOT).
  • Use internal and external maintenance documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Requires demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
  • NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
  • Other State driver's license, as required.
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
  • Able to take home assigned mobile service truck, as applicable, and secure vehicle and contents.
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles.

Working Conditions:

The Mobile Diesel Technician will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lift, push, and pull heavy objects. The technician will also be required to work in a variety of weather conditions.
