Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of 12-15 hourly union workers in a 24/7 production environment
  • Oversee safety and quality initiatives for your production line
  • Conduct daily and monthly safety meetings with your team
  • Address challenges arising from equipment failures, scheduling adjustments, and procedural modifications
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Implement company and departmental policies effectively
  • Spend 85-90% of your time actively engaged on the production floor with your team
  • Prepare and strategize for upcoming shift requirements
  • Evaluate team readiness to comply with safety protocols
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience managing 5-15 individuals in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong leadership capabilities, especially in unionized environments
  • Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate needs and react swiftly
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally within heavy industry
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities to navigate unforeseen challenges
