Job Title: Transmission System Reliability Specialist

About the Opportunity:

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The reporting location can be any of the FE facilities. The candidate for this position is considered mobile, with most of the week working from home and the possibility of traveling to an FE facility up to two days per week.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze transmission system reliability performance data to determine root causes of transmission system reliability issues.
- Develop and maintain metrics demonstrating how FE transmission system reliability compares to applicable industry standards.
- Recommend to management target levels of FE transmission system reliability performance relative to industry norms.
- Work with Planning & Protection, Engineering, and others to identify options with recommendations for projects and initiatives to improve FE transmission system reliability.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required. In lieu of a degree, a Professional Engineer's (PE) License is required.
- A Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years of Engineering experience is required.
- A working knowledge of electrical engineering, transmission substation equipment, transmission system protection, and transmission system operations are desired.
- Prior experience with root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and/or statistical analysis is desired.
- Experience with Lean and/or continuous improvement processes are also desired.
