Role Responsibilities

The OB Nurse plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive care to obstetric patients throughout their journey, including pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and addressing the physical, emotional, and educational needs of obstetric patients.
  • Providing support and care during labor and delivery.
  • Administering medications and monitoring vital signs as necessary.
  • Assisting in surgical procedures such as cesarean sections.
  • Educating patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
  • Documenting patient care accurately in medical records.
  • Ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in the obstetric unit.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid RN license.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in OB nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.

The OB Nurse is an integral member of the healthcare team, crucial for ensuring the health and safety of mothers and their newborns. This is a contracted travel position.
