Apheresis Technician II - Donor Room Phlebotomist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Apheresis Technician II to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our Blood Collection department, you will be responsible for collecting blood and blood components from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood and blood components from donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures.
  • Perform therapeutic apheresis procedures and HPC collections under the direction and supervision of a Therapeutic Apheresis RN.
  • Adhere to all FDA, NJDOH, AABB, FACT, and Blood Services guidelines to ensure patient/donor safety and product acceptability.
  • Accurately document all procedures and data in the BCIS, on run sheets, and apheresis forms in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with donors, patients, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a diploma from a phlebotomy training school or phlebotomy course.
  • Blood donor collection experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
