POSITION TITLE: Process Improvement Manager
REPORTS TO: General Manager
Summary
- Oversee and direct ongoing process enhancement initiatives aimed at maximizing performance across various functions and divisions utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensure the establishment of programs that document essential work processes and methodologies. Supervise a structured approach to guarantee high-quality service and product uniformity for the clientele. Develop and sustain necessary protocols, descriptions, and associated documentation.
- Evaluate quality performance, extract and scrutinize performance metrics, and disseminate reports reflecting organizational performance against established objectives. Foster and maintain effective two-way communication channels with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Advise on process-related design modifications and pinpoint opportunities to refine existing procedures, work instructions, and associated tools to effectively meet the demands of a changing workflow and product market.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and concentrate on core business improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction. Analyze and implement solutions to business challenges, ensuring that corrective and preventive action processes fulfill their primary goal of satisfying the customer, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency.
- Influence all management levels positively to ensure that training needs for personnel are accurately identified. Guarantee that staff receive the essential training required to develop and exhibit functional competencies.
- Promote a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to negative trends in customer and supplier complaints.
- Effectively manage the Corrective and Preventive Action process.
- Oversee, analyze, and maintain inspection testing techniques to ensure continuity of specified product characteristics.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of 5S and housekeeping initiatives.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of waste reduction programs.
- Examine manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiencies.
- Assess training requirements across all functional areas and maintain records of completed training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- The Process Improvement Manager is a collaborator and team builder who works in harmony with the management team.
- This manager has full authority to request corrective actions from all employees involved in the Quality Management System.
- This position also holds the authority to interview and audit all organizational functions and their historical KPIs to confirm compliance with established procedures and identify improvement opportunities.
- This manager has the authority to halt manufacturing if non-conforming products are being produced and also possesses disciplinary action authority.
- Interactions with Customers and Contacts:
- The Process Improvement Manager must conduct themselves professionally at all times. They should be innovative in their approach to finding better ways to serve customers and treat both internal and external customers with respect, keeping in mind the goal of providing quality products, services, and experiences safely.
Computer Proficiency: Pratt Quality Software
- Strong self-development skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Communication Skills: - Proficient in verbal presentation skills (from small meetings to plant-wide meetings).
- Effective verbal and written communication with customers.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to determine data needs, then collect, assess, and convert data into useful statistical information using statistical summaries, regression analyses, Pareto diagrams, or more advanced statistical tools.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
