Dairy Utility Maintenance Specialist

As a Dairy Utility Maintenance Specialist with Dairy Farmers of America, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our utility systems. This includes performing routine and breakdown maintenance on equipment, monitoring systems, and maintaining records. You will also oversee the training of utility and maintenance employees to ensure they understand all functions of work practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain regulatory records regarding utility maintenance issues and wastewater treatment plant permits.
- Perform daily utility operations and maintain related equipment.
- Oversee training of utility and maintenance employees.
- Propose training for the utility team and attend required training as needed.
- Monitor and maintain all repairs, supplies, and tools and equipment to ensure the efficiency and functionality of the utility equipment.
- Document and read meters (gas, sewer, electric, and water) to ensure accurate reporting to agencies.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually inspections of the facility and of various equipment.
- Notify the maintenance department when repairs are needed and may assist in the repair work as required.
- Document and upkeep all necessary records/paperwork to ensure legal and regulatory obligations to MET Council and MPC.
- Perform annual cleaning and inspection of all utility equipment and systems.
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
