Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Nurse Instructor to join our team at Delaware Guidance Services. As a Crisis Bed Contracted LLAM Certified Instructor, you will be responsible for training unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) in the Limited Lay Administration of Medication (LLAM) curriculum and overseeing the medication administration record (MAR) for children admitted to a residential crisis bed unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Training and Oversight: Provide LLAM curriculum training for new hires, annually for re-certification, and as needed following medication errors that require updated instruction.
  • Medication Administration Record (MAR) Oversight: Provide oversight of the MAR as needed.
  • Consultation and Support: Provide consultation to the Crisis Bed coordinator and Program Manager related to UAPs and the Limited Lay Administration of Medication.

General Responsibilities:
  • Participate in relevant professional development and learning activities as required of DGS Per Diem employees.
  • Adhere to professional code of ethics and conduct.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet the needs of a 24/7 crisis bed program.
  • Demonstrate continuous commitment to DGS' core values.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversight of LLAM UAP training

Work Environment: Office based

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be requested to lift up to 15 pounds periodically.

Travel Required: None

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Maintains an active Delaware or compact state RN license in good standing.
  • Has one year of clinical nursing experience, including experience in medication administration.
  • MAR documentation and review experience.
  • Certification as a LLAM instructor or ability to complete training to become certified within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently Certified LLAM instructor.
