Gameplay Engineer for Blockchain-Enabled AAA Extraction Shooter

We're seeking a skilled Senior Unreal Gameplay Engineer to join our team at Shrapnel Studio. As a key member of our game engineering team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing core gameplay features for our blockchain-enabled AAA extraction shooter using Unreal Engine.

Your primary focus will be on creating designer-friendly, expandable gameplay systems while optimizing for memory, CPU, and networking. You will work closely with game designers and engineers to realize the game's vision and lead the development of core gameplay features using Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement gameplay systems aligned with design requirements
  • Develop systems that accommodate future expansion
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code with performance optimization in mind
  • Partner with game designers and engineers to realize the game's vision
  • Lead the development of core gameplay features using Unreal Engine
Requirements:
  • Passion for gameplay development
  • Expert in the Unreal engine
  • A track record of crafting complex gameplay systems in a client/server environment
  • Owned major feature areas in at least two shipped games
  • Ability to navigate complex issues and drive solutions across discipline boundaries
  • Strong coding skills, prioritizing clarity and adaptability
  • Established ability to write clean, readable, and adaptable source code
  • Team player with potential for leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively
