Job Summary

This is an itinerant position that requires assisting a certified Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist (LSH) or other professional staff in providing various speech therapy services to special education students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing therapeutic remediation in speech and language skills to students with special needs, including activities designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production and vocalization.
  • Conduct speech-language therapy and screenings in individual and small-group sessions for special education students as developed by the LSH.
  • Assist LSH during assessments and provide support to LSH staff as needed.
  • Exhibit compliance with regulations and reimbursement requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid, appropriate California Driver's License.
  • Possession of a valid, Certificate of Completion through a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program.
  • AA or BA degree in Speech Language and Pathology Assistant, (SLPA) and License approved through the Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
