Job Summary

The Special Imaging Supervisor plays a crucial role in the supervision, planning, and organization of work processes in Radiology services. This position is responsible for assisting the Management team in ensuring the delivery and quality of imaging services, including turnaround times, quality of exams performed, and patient preparation. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in MRI and possess certifications such as ARMRIT, ARRT-BD, or RDMS-AB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery and quality of imaging services, ensuring compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform procedures as needed due to workload or complexity, and explain the procedure to patients to put them at ease.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, supplies, and resources are available to perform exams and clinical services to meet clinical demands.
  • Interview, counsel, and complete performance evaluations, and train new staff to ensure all registrations and certifications are current, on file, and up to date.
  • Partner with the management team and staff to conduct multidisciplinary staff meetings to ensure consistent and timely communication throughout the departments.
  • Facilitate goal setting for staff working in the imaging sections, monitor goals, achievements, and ensure the outcome of the goals is reflected in the annual performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians and other medical departments to gather and exchange information, develop and implement solutions to problems.
  • Assist in ensuring the imaging sections are compliant with The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Texas Department of Health (TDH) standards, and other accrediting bodies.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in MRI
  • Certifications such as ARMRIT, ARRT-BD, or RDMS-AB
  • Ability to perform high-quality advanced imaging procedures according to exam protocol and in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues
  • Ability to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction performance, and developing action plans when required
