MRI Department Supervisor

The Special Imaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting the management team in the supervision, planning, organizing, and improvement of work processes in Radiology services. This includes Diagnostic Radiology, Interoperative, CT, MRI, US, IR, or Nuclear Medicine, as instructed by the Director and/or Radiologist.
The supervisor performs department orientation, teaches, coaches, supervises staff, and performs imaging exams in the modalities they supervise. They ensure the organization's vision, mission, values, and goals are adhered to and implied.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the delivery and quality of imaging services, ensuring turnaround times, quality of exams performed, and patient preparation in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner.
- Perform procedures as needed due to workload or complexity.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels, supplies, and resources are available to perform exams and clinical services to meet clinical demands.
- Interview, counsel, and complete performance evaluations.
- Train new staff and ensure all registrations and certifications are current, on file, and up to date.
- Partner with the management team and staff to conduct multidisciplinary staff meetings to ensure consistent and timely communication throughout the departments.
- Facilitate goal setting for staff working in the imaging sections and monitor goals, achievements, and ensure the outcome of the goals is reflected in the annual performance evaluations.
- Encourage employees to participate in Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Patient Safety surveys, and other activities providing service feedback results to staff.
- Initiate a plan of action related to areas of improvement.
- Partner with Management to develop a budget for the department, including providing feedback on new and replacement equipment and services needed for continued growth.
- Promote a culture of service excellence in the imaging sections by partnering with management to communicate service excellence and patient-centeredness expectations and customer satisfaction survey results.
- Acts as a Radiology liaison to other departments.
- 3 years of experience in MRI or related field.
- Certification in Radiology or related field (ARRT, ARDMS, etc.).
- Ability to perform high-quality advanced imaging procedures according to exam protocol and in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.
- Ability to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction performance, and developing action plans when required.
- Ability to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
- Ability to make tactical options around the allocation and direction of the work of supervised employees using established guidelines, policies, and/or procedures.
