Job Title: Account Manager II

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager II to join our team. As the primary service contact for our clients, you will be responsible for problem-solving claim resolutions, billing concerns, compliance communications, open enrollment support, and strengthening relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients
  • Anticipate client needs and identify strategies to solve them
  • Oversee client projects, including implementation of new business, open enrollment process, non-discrimination testing, etc.
  • Interpret plan rules to ensure compliance with Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions
  • Prepare information for client meetings, including agendas, printing, and preparing client materials
  • Take meeting notes and distribute them to meeting attendees within 48 hours
  • Track action items discussed at meetings and assist the team in tracking action items based on the client's annual calendar
  • Assist HR and employees with billing and claim questions and issues, providing resolution support
  • Establish regular client contact, including electronic, telephonic, and in-person communication
  • Communicate due dates, timelines, and expectations to clients and partners
  • Conduct or assist with on-site meetings to communicate with employees and/or administrators about their benefit plan
  • Develop employee memorandum drafts for clients to communicate annual renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes, and clarifications
  • Provide resolution support and oversight of employee issues, such as enrollment and billing issues
  • Conduct annual client compliance audits using the NFP portal
  • Provide updates to clients regarding industry trends and events, including state and federal regulatory issues
  • Support iEducate, advise, and aid clients on compliance topics, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform
  • Develop relationships with carrier representatives to understand available products and services and recommend them to clients
  • Act as a subject matter expert on benefits and vendor/carrier products and services
  • Have a general understanding of alternative funding strategies
  • Work with the VP of Employee Benefits, Account Executives, and Benefit Analysts to support client strategy planning and execution
  • Provide support for benefit administration online portals
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in account management, preferably in a consulting or brokerage firm or employee benefit vendor
  • High school graduate; 4-year college degree or industry-specific designation preferred
  • Current life and disability insurance license (or obtain within 4 months of employment) and retain license by meeting continuing education requirements
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
Performance Aptitudes:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with internal team and clients
  • Ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data and/or information using established criteria
  • Ability to question and discuss reference, descriptive, design, advisory, consulting, and conceptual data and information with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; calculate decimals and percentages; and interpret graphs
  • Ability to apply incentive and leadership principles and draw on own and others' experience to develop and apply best practices to solve problems
