About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Reading Truck. As a key member of our EHS department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of EHS metrics, including injury and illness rates, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Collaborate with employees to identify and mitigate safety risks, and provide guidance on best practices for workplace safety.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and training programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of safety-related communications and postings.
  • Collaborate with employees to understand problems and issues, and obtain suggested alternatives.
  • Assist in scheduling 3rd party vendors and contractors for on-site training and provide training as needed.
  • Oversee the development and continuous improvement of new hire safety orientation.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and training as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or Chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA waste regulations, and relevant manufacturing environment safety standards.
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Database management skills and comfort working on a computer.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
