About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team at Reading Truck. As an EHS Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the investigation process for accidents and injuries, including identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain written documentation, including investigation reports and root-cause analysis.
  • Assist department leaders in implementing Process Control and Corrective Action (PDCA) cycles.
  • Maintain and trend key metrics, such as TRIR, DART, and injury data.
  • Assist in analyzing and summarizing key metrics to support EHS performance reporting.
  • Participate in corporate EHS audits and assessments to identify safety deficiencies.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and assist in compiling and completing regulatory reports.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of safety-related communications and postings.
  • Develop and conduct training programs, and maintain training databases.
  • Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and generate reports as required.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in EHS in a heavy manufacturing and industrial environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related field (e.g., Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Environmental Engineering).
  • CIH, ASP, CSP, or Environmental certifications in progress.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to take complex tasks from inception to completion.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, trend, and report statistics to plant personnel and EHS Manager.
  • Demonstrated skills in database management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team and build consensus.
  • Ability to teach and conduct training.
  • Ability to develop rapport with plant personnel, challenge when needed, but learn when necessary.
