Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of intricate tax returns encompassing gift, estate, and fiduciary income for individuals and entities, utilizing Forms 1041, 1041A, 5227, 990PF, 706, and 709.
  • Offering strategic guidance on estate planning, recent inheritances, lifetime charitable contributions, and asset safeguarding.
  • Staying updated on trust creation and interpretation of trust documentation.
  • Projecting tax liabilities based on historical and anticipated transactions.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with client attorneys and financial advisors.
  • Engaging with various tax authorities for inquiries.
  • Reviewing and adjusting prior year work in light of changes in client accounting practices and tax legislation.
  • Conducting tax planning sessions and consultations with clients.
  • Providing mentorship to junior staff on their assignments.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-7 years of experience in public accounting within a tax-focused environment.
  • CPA certification or evidence of progress towards certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Preferred supervisory experience and strong client relationship skills.
  • Familiarity with ProSystems/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tax planning and accounting tools.
