Job Overview

Position Summary

Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is a family-owned Christian preschool dedicated to nurturing young minds. We are looking for dedicated educators who are passionate about early childhood development to fill the role of Lead Teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive educational plan utilizing the A Beka Book curriculum along with supplementary resources.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the classroom, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Foster effective communication with children, parents, and staff to address the needs of each child and facilitate a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Utilize BrightWheel to document classroom activities, child interactions, and any pertinent child-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular meetings with parents and complete developmental assessments to support each child's growth.
  • Adhere to all center policies, state licensing standards, and regulations to maintain a compliant educational setting.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and execute age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Model effective teaching practices and support the professional growth of teaching assistants.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through various channels, including progress reports and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the classroom environment.
  • Supervise and guide classroom volunteers and assistants to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation related to classroom activities and child development.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional child care.
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 30 credits in ECE or a child-related discipline.
  • Possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is acceptable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Current certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Successful completion of a background check and health screening.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to child supervision.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the A Beka Book curriculum.
  • Experience using the BrightWheel application.
  • Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification is a plus.
