Position: IT Solution ArchitectLocation: Remote
Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the IT Solution Architect encompass, but are not limited to:
- Guiding the assessment and suggestion of suitable solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning strategies, considering business and technological efficiency, usability, and overall cost-effectiveness.
- Designing and implementing solutions aimed at minimizing reactive workload.
- Collaborating with business and technology experts to develop comprehensive solutions that deliver value to the organization while adhering to the standards established by Enterprise Architecture.
- Engaging with business leaders to foster a strong partnership between IT and operational teams.
- Ability to model solutions from conceptual, logical, and physical perspectives (N+1 views).
- Creating documentation that illustrates the N+1 views of the complete solution (context, data domain, logical, physical, and deployment).
- Facilitating the requirements refinement process, with a particular emphasis on service-level expectations.
- Working alongside other IT departments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the proposed architecture, welcoming and incorporating feedback.
- Participating in design evaluations to ensure alignment of the design with the proposed solution architecture.
- Contributing to the development of enterprise guidelines, standards, and principles as new precedents are established.
- Clearly articulating architectural decisions that underpin the solution architecture.
- Proactively collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure their current and future needs are met by IT.
- Gaining a thorough understanding of the organization's policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution architecture and systems design.
- At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, focusing on contemporary technologies and frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript (e.g., React), C#, and .NET.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Aurora) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
- Strong background in designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Understanding of application security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship.
