About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Methodist Hospital Atascosa. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, adhering to manufacturer's recommendations and established protocols.
- Monitor the sterile field during procedures, taking corrective action to maintain asepsis and prevent contamination.
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a surgical technologist program or 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through a recognized accrediting agency.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
