About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Methodist Hospital Atascosa. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients
  • Coordinate with the circulating perioperative nurse to ensure seamless communication and teamwork
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of the sterile field, taking corrective action as needed
  • Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures, under the direction of the Registered Nurse
  • Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout the surgical procedure
Requirements
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent required
  • Graduate of a surgical technologist program or 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through the National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
