Job Summary

The Lead Director of Value-Based Contracting and Business Development is responsible for managing the portfolio of value-based agreements in the Mountain and Arizona markets.

This role reports directly to the Market Chief Network Officer and has a matrix reporting relationship with the Mountain and Arizona Executive Directors.

The position will work closely with the Engagement Management resources to optimize performance of our VBC agreements and ensure alignment with company objectives, provider capabilities, and provider performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the portfolio of value-based agreements in the Mountain and Arizona markets
  • Collaborate with the executive directors to meet network market performance objectives through value-based relationships with providers
  • Develop a strong rapport with the Chief Medicare Officer and support the market Medicare Advantage Strategy and annual bid process
  • Work closely with the Engagement Management resources to optimize performance of our VBC agreements

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten years provider contracting experience, including value-based agreements
  • Knowledge of CMS value-based contracting methodologies and adoption
  • Strong communication skills, including the use of PowerPoint and presenting to leadership
  • Analytical experience with claims data and cost and quality performance analytics
  • Knowledge and experience with HEDIS measures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Population health experience, preferably in a healthcare delivery setting or with clinicians responsible for performing under value-based agreements
  • Value-based contracting experience across all segments, including commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or professional equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $100,000 to $231,540.00 per year, depending on experience, education, and other factors.

This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program, as well as an award target in the company's equity award program.
