Job Title: Building and Grounds Assistant

Job Summary:

The Building and Grounds Assistant will be responsible for maintaining all buildings and grounds to provide a safe, comfortable, and presentable environment for faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all buildings, grounds, and equipment at Portland Christian School.
  • Efficiently use all supplies and equipment associated with maintaining buildings and grounds.
  • Know procedures for dealing with system-wide emergencies.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities in maintaining buildings and grounds.
  • Perform various duties related to maintenance, including assembly of equipment, simple carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, lighting, and lawn care.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Open the building and conduct a general inspection.
  • Take action to eliminate any unsafe situation and manage other items that could interfere with the general operation of the school.
  • Work as a member of an assigned team for large projects as requested by the Director of Facilities and/or the Director of Operations.
  • Provide assistance as needed in the absence of other Building and Grounds personnel.
  • Assist with emergency drills and general inspections.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Familiarity with general maintenance techniques.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety and OSHA requirements or willingness to learn.
