About the PositionThe Director of Basketball Operations reports to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and administers and organizes the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball office, facilitating communication among staff members. The job is performed with adherence to NCAA Division I rules.
Responsibilities- Lead a comprehensive player development program, including leadership, financial literacy, media training, player mentor program, post-college transition planning, and other initiatives.
- Develop and lead professional opportunities for players, serving as a mentor to educate and assist with NIL opportunities.
- Assist in making strategic decisions in scouting and contest situations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes.
- Abide by and promote the aims, goals, and objectives established by the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
- Ensure student-athletes abide by all University, Atlantic 10 Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Coordinate countable coaches' on- and off-campus recruitment efforts, maintaining and growing a professional network to assist in program recruitment efforts.
- Manage an internal recruitment database and calendar to track all incoming and potential recruits.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of official and unofficial visits.
- Develop a competitive schedule that fosters a strong experience for student-athletes.
- Work with the coaching staff to direct the day-to-day operations of the program.
- Coordinate team and head coach schedules.
- Assist the head coach as a liaison to academic, strength and conditioning, procurement, business office, and compliance.
- Direct all operations according to university and department policies and procedures, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Communicate with the Patriot Club to discuss and implement donor and alumni plans and participation.
