The EEG Technologist at the University of Minnesota performs prescribed electroencephalogram tests, utilizing their knowledge and ability to collect, assess, interpret, and intervene as appropriate in the care of pediatric, adult, geriatric, and critical care patients.

This position may also serve as a clinical resource to Neurology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patients and equipment for EEG procedure
  • Operate equipment to record electrical activity of the brain during the procedure
  • Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings and evoked potentials in a manner consistent with the standards of care, objectives, and procedures of the EEG Laboratory and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
  • Assures availability and proper function of supplies and equipment
  • Assembles and adjusts equipment
  • Participates in the evaluation of new equipment or supplies
  • Collaborates with the Physician and other staff
  • Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
  • Graduate of an Accredited EEG or Polysomnography training program
  • Ability to work evening and weekend shifts and at multiple job sites as determined by department needs
