Solar Installation Technician

Job Summary:

C.D.L. ELECTRIC COMPANY, Inc. is seeking a skilled Solar Installation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for assisting with the completion of full installations, service calls, and troubleshooting work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with gathering materials for upcoming jobs and counting orders for accuracy.
  • Perform detailed site surveys of structural dimensions and electrical equipment prior to installation.
  • Perform all parts of solar installation, including rooftop work, ground mount assembly, and electrical wiring.
  • Commission and activate systems upon utility PTO.
  • Actively learn and train on new equipment while looking for better ways to improve our overall quality of work and installation efficiency.
  • Complete service calls for troubleshooting systems and diagnose system issues.
  • Assist with electrical work orders and miscellaneous work orders.
Requirements:
  • NABCEP PV associate or board certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial, single-phase and 3-phase electrical equipment, cabling, and installation methods.
  • Knowledge with solar equipment, modules, inverters, racking, and monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of current national electrical codes.
  • Knowledge or experience with electrical drawings and site survey work.
  • Experience with proper use of fall prevention and fall restraint systems.
  • Good with technology, software, mobile apps, and computers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enphase - IQ Microinverters, IQ battery, IQ system controller, IQ gateway.
  • SMA - String Inverters, Commercial String Inverters.
  • IronRidge, Unirac, & Sunmodo - ground & roof mount racking systems.
Physical Demands:

The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and/or sitting for long periods of time. Climbing ladders to reach ceilings and other high objects, pushing/pulling/ lifting/moving 50 pounds repeatedly, and working in adverse weather conditions.
