Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer encompass:
- Providing specialized knowledge to contract and Intelligence Community sites on electrical engineering concerning the installation, enhancement, operation, and maintenance of facilities, mission systems, and support systems, along with power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
- Exhibiting advanced technical skills and innovative thinking in both 2D and 3D electrical computer-aided design and modeling.
- Creating intricate plans based on client input and personal expertise, adhering to government standards.
- Designing facilities that include building power systems, lighting designs, and load calculations to fulfill critical electrical demands.
- Producing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Offering leadership and mentorship to fellow engineering team members.
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical facility design, construction, maintenance, and operation.
- Conducting assessments of building and facility conditions related to electrical systems.
- Executing electrical engineering power system calculations, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.
- Serving as a technical authority on electromagnetic interference mitigation.
- Reviewing facility and equipment design packages to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Overseeing the proper installation and operation of complex UPS and generator systems to ensure reliable and redundant power for critical equipment.
- Implementing quality assurance measures for electrical construction to guarantee workmanship quality and adherence to standards.
- Providing SME insights for the development of technical publications, including contract regulations and informational pamphlets.
- Being ready for immediate deployment to various global locations in potentially challenging work environments to provide technical support.
