About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer to join our team at Awesome Motive Inc. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our WordPress plugins and themes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and resolve bugs and small enhancements in our GitHub repository.
  • Scope, write, and test new product features and add-ons.
  • Refactor legacy code with a focus on backwards compatibility.
  • Provide feedback and peer review for other developers through GitHub pull requests.
  • Communicate with the team and support peers through chat, audio, and video.
Requirements
  • Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices.
  • Strong familiarity with JavaScript, including vanilla JS, jQuery, and ES6.
  • Ability to use and extend build tools like Gulp and Webpack.
  • Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs, such as Stripe and Drip.
  • Competent with version control through Git and GitHub.
  • Ability to iterate and ship ideas quickly.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to keep complex ideas and features simple.
  • Previous freelance or remote work experience.
  • Personal computer with internet access.
  • Availability to participate in audio/video meetings between 9 am and 5 pm EST.
Bonus Points
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript frameworks like VueJS or React.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or related APIs.
  • Experience with DevOps or infrastructure management.
