Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor at Atrium Health, you will oversee the clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide guidance and support to nursing staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, adhering to JCAHO standards and organizational clinical policies.
  • Conduct orientation for new employees and coordinate ongoing education and training for staff.
  • Maintain and evaluate supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a graduate degree from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care, and be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. You will also need to be currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner for the state of North Carolina, and have a working knowledge of all phases of Respiratory Care technology pertinent to this position.

Physical Requirements

This role requires repetitive physical activity, with considerable walking and standing. You must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and have the ability to move patients of all age groups and equipment. You may be exposed to odors, low lighting, and crowded working conditions, and must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
