Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a Fire Alarm Estimator, you will play a critical role in analyzing project specifications, creating accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with our sales, project management, and operations teams.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, NFPA codes, and local fire safety regulations. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for fire alarm and special hazard system installations and retrofits.
  • Collaborate with sales and project management teams to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Research material and labor costs to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing in all estimates.
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing information and develop competitive proposals.
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost proposals to clients, ensuring all aspects of the fire alarm system, code requirements, and project needs are covered.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site visits, and clarify project requirements with clients, architects, and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in fire alarm estimating or a related field.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a degree in electrical engineering, fire protection, or a related field is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, NFPA codes, and local fire safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
