They utilize cooking techniques that preserve the nutritional value, taste, and presentation of food. Aides follow standardized recipes to ensure the correct quantity of food is prepared and served. They verify that meals are complete and align with dietary preferences and requirements. Proper storage of food and supplies is essential, along with performing additional tasks as needed.

Nutritional Cooks are responsible for delivering timely and accurate food service to meet the needs of residents. They maintain dietary equipment in a clean and safe manner and follow procedures for sanitizing utensils efficiently. Cooks uphold high standards for food quality, service, delivery, safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and overall job performance. They also undertake other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented, maintain confidentiality, and exhibit professionalism
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that involve reaching, bending, lifting, and pulling
