Deliver Exceptional Patient Care at Bethesda Health

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to join our team at Bethesda Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that promote regulatory compliance, staff development, and continuous quality improvement.

About the Role:

In this critical role, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to design and deliver in-service programs that address infection prevention strategies, staff safety, and patient care initiatives. Your expertise will ensure that all employees receive essential training and resources to provide high-quality care in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement corporate-approved orientation programs for all employees, focusing on regulatory issues surrounding long-term care and promoting a culture of education among staff.
  • Conduct general orientation using corporate guidelines, incorporating relevant OSHA and Federal and State regulations into the program.
  • Provide input into evaluation of the orientee and recommend release from or extension of orientation based on evaluation of learning needs.
  • Assist with mentor programs and promote a culture of staff development by being open and encouraging about the work environment.
  • Develop lesson plans and conduct in-service programs, including mandatory in-services, new and revised policies and procedures, and online education programs.
  • Work closely with the Director of Nursing to promote teamwork and quality care issues.
  • Act as a resource person for nurse assistants and monitor their progress.
  • Develop and implement an ongoing infection prevention and control program to prevent, recognize, and control the onset and spread of infections in order to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment.
  • Establish facility-wide systems for the prevention, identification, reporting, investigation, and control of infections and communicable diseases of residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Oversee the facility's antibiotic stewardship program, resident care activities that increase risk of infection, and lead the facility's Infection and Prevention Control Committee.
  • Implement an annual infection control risk assessment process and participate in the facility's annual assessment review process.
  • Review and/or revise the facility's infection prevention and control program, its standards, policies, and procedures annually and as needed for changes to the facility assessment to ensure they are effective and in accordance with current standards of practice for preventing and controlling infections.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a graduate degree in nursing and have a strong background in geriatric care and education. A minimum of five years of recent clinical nursing experience is required, with previous experience in long-term care preferred. You should also have excellent communication skills, the ability to teach adults, and a high degree of ability in using tact, diplomacy, and discretion.

Bethesda Health offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience.
