- Greet patients warmly, whether in person or via phone, addressing inquiries or directing them appropriately.
- Prepare patients for their medical appointments by escorting them to examination rooms, providing necessary garments, and organizing medical instruments and supplies.
- Assist healthcare providers in patient care by gathering medical histories, measuring vital signs, preparing injections, and maintaining sterile environments.
- Apply casts and manage durable medical equipment as required.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records for coding and billing purposes.
- Handle triage of patient calls and messages from physicians.
- Maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary medical supplies and properly sterilized.
- Organize patient charts prior to their arrival for appointments.
- Schedule follow-up visits, initial therapy sessions, and imaging appointments.
- Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training or certification as a medical assistant is preferred.
- A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates capability in fulfilling the role's responsibilities.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records is beneficial.
Work Environment:
This position is situated in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.
Physical Requirements:
- Involves mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, with some bending and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Regular communication and auditory skills are necessary.
- Normal vision (corrected) is required.
- Manual dexterity is needed to operate office equipment effectively.
Position Type and Hours:
This is a full-time position, typically scheduled Monday through Friday. Shifts may vary based on company needs, generally falling between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm.
