Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at our production facility in Fargo, ND. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) matching. We also offer opportunities for career growth and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspections and Testing: Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Monitor production processes and equipment to identify any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards. Perform various quality tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products, including moisture content, purity, and foreign material detection.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure that all quality assurance activities are in compliance with industry regulations and company policies, including food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP). Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control measures, including detailed reports and logs. Prepare and review quality documentation, including certificates of analysis and quality reports.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant standards. Participate in internal audits and inspections and assist with the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and investigate quality issues, working closely with production staff to determine root causes and implement solutions. Assist in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of quality issues. Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably within the food industry.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Quality Assurance or Food Safety, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP certification.
- Experience with sunflower seed processing or similar food production processes.
- Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and methods.
Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position based at our production facility in Fargo, ND.
- Must be able to work in a production environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and food-grade equipment.
- Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate production schedules and quality inspections.
