Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

As a Utilities Manager at University Partners, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of utilities management for our operating and transitional properties.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Transitioning utilities for acquisitions, management takeovers, and dispositions
  • Coordinating new property takeovers, including utility name changes and residential billing
  • Completing utility contracts and paperwork
  • Ensuring property disposition of utilities during off-boarding
  • Streamlining utility billing methodologies across our portfolio
  • Collaborating with Accounting and Asset Management for deposits, surety bonds, and letters of credit
  • Collaborating with Asset Management for utility RFPs and contracts
  • Liaising with vendors and stakeholders
  • Troubleshooting metering and submetering issues
  • Overseeing utility reimbursement for commercial tenants
  • Attending weekly vendor partner calls
  • Conducting monthly reviews of utility expenses and preparing summaries
  • Compiling annual budget recommendations from utility partners
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of multi-family and commercial tenant experience
  • Experience with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi property management accounting software
  • Experience with Conservice and SimpleBills Utility Management companies
  • Strong technical aptitude, detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
