About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ready Mix Driver to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Dunkirk, New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Ready Mix Concrete: Safely transport and deliver ready mix concrete to job sites in a timely manner, adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle is in a clean, organized, and safe condition, performing minor roadside repairs as needed.
  • Inspect Mix and Load: Visually inspect the mix, slump, and verify load size according to ticket, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with customers to achieve maximum customer satisfaction, responding to their needs and concerns.
  • Dispatch and Routing: Collaborate with dispatch to ensure the quickest and safest routes to jobs, optimizing delivery times and efficiency.
  • Operate Chute Controls: Assemble and operate concrete chutes during the pour, ensuring smooth and efficient concrete placement.
  • Adhere to Safety Regulations: Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment and attending safety meetings.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A or B.
  • Vehicle Experience: Have a minimum of one year of experience operating a commercial vehicle with a multi-speed transmission.
  • Reading, Writing, and Math Skills: Be proficient in reading, writing, and math skills, with the ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Good Driving Record: Maintain a good driving record, with a valid medical card.
  • Concrete Knowledge and Experience: Possess knowledge and experience in concrete, with a mechanical background or skills preferred.
  • Availability: Be available to work six days a week (Monday-Saturday) and occasionally on Sunday, with the ability to drive a maximum of eleven hours per day and work up to 14 hours per day as regulated by the Department of Transportation.
  • Solid Attendance and Punctuality: Demonstrate a solid attendance and punctuality history, with the ability to climb ladders and lift and assemble concrete chutes weighing 60 lbs.
