Senior Living Food Preparation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Prep Cook to join our team at Merrill Gardens. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality food for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met and their dining experience is exceptional.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing all food items following production amounts, proper recipes, and procedures.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely fashion, using batch-cooking and cook-to-order methods to ensure a fresh product.
  • Prepare all food products in a manner that ensures the highest level of Food Safety and preserves nutrients to meet the specific dietary requirements of our residents.
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, including cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and equipment before and after each use.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled dining services meetings and in-service trainings.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in quality food preparation.
  • Experience in scratch cooking in a high-volume, fine-dining setting.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Outlook and Word.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree or equivalent is preferred.
