Job Title: School Psychologist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to join our team at Soliant Education in Norfolk, VA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide critical psychological services to middle and elementary grade levels, including evaluations, meeting attendance, and collaboration with specialist teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' needs and inform intervention strategies.
  • Meeting Attendance: Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering expert recommendations based on evaluation results.
  • Specialist Team Support: Work closely with other specialists and school staff to create and implement strategies that support students' mental health and educational progress.
  • Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to students to address psychological and emotional concerns.
  • Consultation: Offer guidance and support to teachers, parents, and school administrators on psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and student progress.
Requirements:
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid School Psychologist certification or license in Virginia.
  • Skills: Proficiency in conducting psychological evaluations, participating in IEP meetings, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and keep detailed records.
