Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the CT Scan Department. As a CT Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing all duties associated with the acquisition, processing, and submission of CT images for interpretation. This role requires strong communication and patient care skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans and other imaging procedures as prescribed by departmental policy and protocols.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm understanding.
  • Position patients and formulate techniques to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomy based on accepted radiographic principles.
  • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of radiopaque media and assist in obtaining informed consent as needed.
  • Review diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided.
  • Take verbal orders from providers and enter them into the RIS system.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Assist and communicate with radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Observe patients during radiologic exams and make appropriate interventions or contact primary caregivers as needed.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to other personnel, including student radiographers.
  • Identify and correct problems, reporting critical occurrences to the next level of authority.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Maintain required continuing education and applicable certifications for modality.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of AMA, JRC, or Regionally Accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT.
  • ARRT CT registry required in accordance with Work Instruction EMP 8.
