About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our pediatric services team at Lifespan Corporation. This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week.

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide expert clinical nursing care to children and adolescents in our psychiatric unit. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating treatment effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and education
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license in the State of Rhode Island or eligibility for licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement
  • One year of experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in a pediatric setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex patient needs and develop effective care plans
  • A commitment to lifelong learning, with a focus on staying up-to-date on best practices in pediatric mental health nursing
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week. You will work in a fast-paced psychiatric unit, providing direct care to children and adolescents. A strong background in working with students with various emotional and behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities, or autism spectrum disorders is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a generous paid time off package.
