Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder in Arthur, IL. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
Responsibilities
Perform standard vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
Replace defective components as instructed
Work unsupervised on most tasks
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
What We Offer
Competitive hourly pay: $28.00 per hour
Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
4-day work week: Wednesday - Saturday
First shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Paid time off starts accruing at day one with 80 hours per year
