Job Summary:

The Clinical Counselor will assess and identify client and family needs, plan, coordinate, and provide necessary services and treatments. You will assist and counsel individuals and families by delineating alternatives, helping to articulate goals, and providing needed information and treatment services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide behavioral health assessment and counseling services to individuals and families.
  • Assess and identify client and family needs, plan, coordinate, and provide necessary services and treatments.
  • Assist and counsel individuals and families by delineating alternatives, helping to articulate goals, and providing needed information and treatment services.
  • Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment by developing a strong knowledge base, staying current on job-related issues and trends, and participating actively in departmental meetings, training, and education.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited university/college.
  • Two years of post-Bachelors experience working with at-risk children and families or one year post-Masters experience.
  • Two years of experience providing services to persons with behavioral health disorders and/or the ability to be supervised by a licensed practitioner of the healing arts (LPHA).
  • Three years of experience dealing with emotionally disturbed children/adolescents, preferred.
Competencies:
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Skills and proficiency in planning, organization, and time management, oral and written communication, interpersonal relationship building, collaboration, and teaming.
  • Ability to perform at a high level of autonomy, with general supervision, and handle stressful, sensitive situations while preserving confidentiality and professional boundaries.
