Job Summary:

Data Engineering Manager at FedEx Dataworks leads a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines at big data scale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, and ensemble modeling, as well as experience in architecting and developing User Experience, REST-based APIs, and Data Layers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team responsible for software development and data engineering within the organization.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains data pipelines at big data scale.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver business goals.
  • Ensures adherence to best practices to ensure reliability, resiliency, security, privacy, and compliance for all application UI/API/Data layers.
  • Evaluates and implements best practices, tools, and processes for web-based application software, APIs, data access, and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Seven (7) years equivalent work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, simulation development, and/or predictive analytics.
  • Extensive knowledge in data engineering and machine learning frameworks, including design, development, and implementation of highly complex systems and data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies.
  • Experience providing leadership in a general planning or consulting setting.
  • Experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-function project teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in software development in building solutions for operation domains like Clearance, Sort, P&D, and Linehaul Air/Surface.
  • Experience in architecting and developing User Experience, REST-based APIs, and Data Layers.
  • Compelling track record of designing and deploying large-scale technical solutions that deliver tangible, ongoing value.

Pay Transparency:

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations.

Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
