Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician will play a crucial role in the mission of the Upstate University Hospital's Golisano Center for Special Needs, serving both inpatient and outpatient units. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring seamless communication with patients and their families.
  • Coordinate care with community providers, obtaining caregiver consent as necessary.
  • Supervise and participate in the implementation of treatment plans, managing and analyzing data to identify key variables affecting patient outcomes.
  • Measure and track outcomes related to quality improvement, while maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for patients.
  • Participate in data management, parent training, teacher and community-provider training, and other assigned duties.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (or higher) in Psychology, Education, or a related field, with one year of related direct patient care experience.
  • Ability to physically manage patients, with experience in Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and behavioral data collection software (e.g., BDataPro).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental delays and/or applied behavior analysis.
  • Prior experience as a Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) at the BBHU.
  • Enrollment in a master's program for applied behavior analysis.
Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, with weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities.
