GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Accountable for overseeing and directing all designated areas as assigned by the Store Manager, adhering to company policies regarding Customers, Associates, and merchandising practices.
In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager assumes responsibility for leading the Store's overall operations to ensure that company standards and best practices are consistently upheld.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Excellence:
Drives adherence to company best practices and enhances productivity by streamlining processes and minimizing unnecessary steps.
Assists in reviewing Store reports to assess controllable expenses and overall performance metrics.
Communicates any discrepancies from company standards to the Store Manager.
Ensures optimal scheduling of Associates to achieve business goals.
Guarantees compliance with all applicable State, Local, and Federal regulations.
Oversees the scheduling and execution of all cleaning tasks assigned to Associates throughout the Store, including restrooms.
Accepts special projects as directed by leadership.
Responsible for payroll management, including daily punch adjustments, compliance with Associate scheduling, payroll transmission, and reporting as necessary.
Team Development:
Assists in the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of non-exempt Associates.
Ensures adherence to company personnel policies and procedures.
Facilitates communication regarding Associate Relations issues to the Store Manager or District Manager as needed.
Cost Management:
Assists in the oversight and continuous evaluation of actual expenditures to remain within budgetary constraints.
Manages payroll hours in alignment with planned budgets, adjusting as necessary to current business trends.
Safety and Security:
Recognizes that safety is the utmost priority and consistently practices safe behaviors.
Ensures all Associates are knowledgeable and capable of executing emergency procedures.
Maintains compliance with company safety policies, ensuring the safety of both Associates and Customers.
Facilitates monthly safety meetings.
Customer Engagement:
Treats all Customers, Associates, and leadership with dignity and respect.
Exhibits courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Acknowledges Associates through company recognition initiatives.
Implements customer service programs and merchandise presentation strategies through Associate training and oversight.
Supervises and mentors Retail Associates in delivering efficient and friendly service across various areas including registers, Customer Service desks, fitting rooms, and the sales floor.
Brand Representation:
Embodies and promotes the company brand consistently.
Maintains and exemplifies a professional appearance in accordance with the company dress code. Reinforces adherence to the dress code among Associates.
Manages the Store to ensure a clean, organized, and shopper-friendly environment.
Upholds high standards of cleanliness with the assistance of contracted maintenance personnel and Store Associates.
Ensures the scheduling and completion of all cleaning tasks assigned to Associates throughout the Store, including restrooms.
Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing
Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are executed to company standards through effective teaching, task assignment, and follow-up in line with best practices.
Ensures merchandise is displayed and organized according to company merchandising guidelines.Proactively manages merchandise processing to the sales floor within the expected timeframe.
Assists in training Associates on Loss Prevention awareness and Store shortage objectives.
As a representative of company leadership, demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
Understands and adheres to the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and is responsible for Store Loss Prevention, which includes maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor, engaging with Customers and Associates, and promoting heightened Loss Prevention awareness.
Assists in leading the annual inventory process, including preparation and execution of inventory protocols.Monitors mark-out-of-stock policies to ensure proper management.
Ensures the Public View Monitor (PVM) system is maintained effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Two or more years of experience as a Store or Assistant Store Manager in a retail setting.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate positively with Store Associates at all levels.
Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, provide direction, and follow through to completion.
Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
Maintain a high standard of Customer service.
Fluency in English.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Ability to operate all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
Certain assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of all non-exempt Associates.
