Job Summary

Responsibilities

* Accurately complete delivery paperwork and communicate with production, sales, and customers to resolve issues with loads and delivery times
* Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following safety rules and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment
* Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and comply with state regulations
* Ensure vehicles are properly loaded and secured, and products are delivered safely and on time
* Inspect vehicles for safety and operational defects using DOT, maintenance, and safety checklists, and ensure emergency equipment is in working order
* Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions
* Load trucks may require securing chains across the width of a trailer to secure the product, tarping loads on trailers, and dropping and hooking trailers
* Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
* Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
* Perform additional duties as required
* Conduct daily Pre-Trip, Inter-Trip, and Post-Trip Inspections
* Responsible for delivering products to customers, contractors, and job sites throughout the region
* Set up sideboard kits around the perimeter of trailer floors
* Use Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) during vehicle operation, and be trained accordingly
* Ability to pass a company road test
* No history of careless, negligent, or reckless operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle in the past three years
* Knowledgeable in D.O.T. Regulations/Requirements
* No DUI or DWI in the past five years
* No felony involving the use of a Commercial Motor Vehicle in the past three years
* Frequent physical activity, including walking, climbing stairs/ladders, working with chains, and reaching to work with equipment throughout the shift
* Minimum one year verifiable tractor/trailer experience required, with flatbed hauling over-the-road experience preferred
* Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including heat and cold
* Must be at least 20 years old
* Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges
* Effective listening and verbal skills to identify important information and engage with internal and external customers
* Ability to speak and understand the English language in verbal communication
* No more than one moving violation in the past three years
* No on-road preventable accidents in the past three years, as shown on the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
* Pass required D.O.T. and CMC Logistics drug testing programs and physicals, as required by D.O.T.
* No history of speeding excessively, 15 mph or more above the posted speed limit, in the past three years
* Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License required
* Ability to work well with team members or independently, and provide and receive feedback in a constructive manner

Requirements

* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
